Things We Can Learn from a Dog

Photography by Julie-Anne, a friend who lives in the land DownUnder, and used w/ permission. The two Cavaliers belong to "Jules" and her husband Michael and are called Joey and Renae. Aren't they lovely! The message from Joey and Renae reads:

Things We Can Learn From A Dog

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
Allow the experience of fresh air &
the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they've invaded your territory.
Take naps & stretch before rising.
Run, romp & play daily.
Eat with gusto & enthusiasm.
Be Loyal.
Never pretend to be something you're not.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent,
sit close by & nuzzle them gently.
Thrive on attention & let people touch you.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
On hot days, drink lots of water & lay under a shady tree.
When you're happy, dance around & wag your entire body.
No matter how often you're scolded,
don't buy into the guilt thing & pout...
run right back & make friends.
Bond with your pack.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Dappled Sunlight Jake
We went for a walk, returned to sit in the shade. While I'm out and about, I love to be loved...and my fan club gives me lots of attention!

Something to smile about

Something to smile about
Jake had some kids to play with last night, after eating a home cooked meal topped w/ commercial dog kibble. For a special treat, he got a Darford biscuit. Those seem to be his favorite these days and come in different flavors. Jake also appreciates Canidae's Snap Biscuits. They break easily into sections, making it easier to give him a reward without adding to his waistline.

Mothers Day

We all saw to it that Carol, my Mummy, had a special Mothers Day! Here's a rare opportunity to meet the whole family at one time here in this album. (use the slideshow feature for full screen, fast loading view) We even had veggie pizza and salad from Pizzicato, or at least the people-types did. I got my usual half home cooked special doggie stew and half Karma kibble, which I'll admit I really enjoy. Sometimes for the kibble part I get one of the California Natural kibbles. They're by Natura and so far all their products have tested safe. Yummy foods and treats, baked at their own plant. They don't make foods for companies other than those owned by Natura, either. My family likes that!

That's Thea w/ me in the park, part of Mother's Day fun. And below, you'll find Marjan, Carol, Thea taking me around to the water fountain. John, Clint and Anneka are running around the playground!
